"The World is a book... Those who don't travel have only read one page"

Adventure travel has been my life for the past 15 years. I have tried all types of travel but unless I am amongst the people, living and experiencing their day to day life, I don't feel I have truly sensed the essence of a country.

From standing on top of a Himalayan Peak to canoeing in the Piranha infested waters of the Amazon, the world is truly an amazing place.
How about experiencing unique cuisine like Guinea Pig in Paraguay or freshly selected Snakes in Vietnam!! Mmmmm. This is my life and the life of an Intrepid Traveller.

I have spent the past 2 years working in Asia and Australia as a group leader with Intrepid. Wow, what an amazing experience! Forming friendships with people from all over the world and memories from the places visited, will surely last a life time.

Take some time to come in and check out our new store in Sydney. Our team are excited to share our experiences and help you plan your next dream adventure.

I've always known that the travel bug is in me - growing up in a small town of 5000 people in Canada, I used to dream of what was out there for me to explore. I got my first taste at the age of 21, first to London to work and then to travel another 13 countries in Europe, seeing everything from the remains of the Berlin Wall, to running bulls in Pamplona, to the canals of Venice and all that's in between.

I returned to Canada, this time to Montreal for school, where I had the chance to connect with my French heritage. Though I had travelled through much of my own country and the United States, I was itching for something different. So when the opportunity arose to live in Australia, I jumped at it.

Since arriving in Sydney, I've explored much of this great country, as well as New Zealand and Fiji. Thailand is on the horizon, and I'm already wondering where to next?

I've always been up for a challenge, and that's why I love travel so much. With every day comes a new adventure, full of unexpected experiences and inspiring people! So fresh out of uni I took my backpack and a round-the-world-ticket and set off exploring.. and that's where my journeys began!

From sand-boarding down the dunes of the Sahara to the inspiring moment of witnessing extreme ironing at the crater of an active volcano in Guatemala, I've seen some wacky and wonderful things. I've explored the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, danced with mariachis in Mexico, sailed down the Nile in Egypt, navigated through underground cities in Turkey, crab fished in the Caribbean and ridden an elephant in Thailand. My latest adventure took me from the beauty of Prague down to the whitewashed seaside towns of the Mediterranean where I fell in love with Spain and stayed to teach English for 1.5 years.

Now I'm back in Sydney with some unforgettable memories and a bit of a flamenco kick in my step (well not quite but you can come and speak to me in Spanish if you want!). See you in the store!

The soundtrack for my life has got to be "Lust for Life". I live for new and exciting adventures, discovering the miracles of nature and sharing laughs with people from all walks of life. When it comes to travel, I can't get enough of it! From bustling cities to serene mountain tops, the world is an extraordinary place.

My travels have been fascinating, challenging and often pretty hilarious. From hunting down the best taco stand in Mexico, sailing the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia and walking a centuries old pilgrimage across Spain. Not to mention crossiant classes in the south of France, organic goat farming in Canada and tracking elephants in Africa.

For me, travel is the best way to learn, grow, laugh and meet alot of great people. If that sounds like the kind of travel experience you are looking for, come in and meet our team and we'll help make it happen.

My inspiration to travel came from a few sources. Firstly from the far flung trekking documentaries produced by Alby Mangels. Then from Erroll Flyn's biography 'My Wicked Wicked Ways' and also the daily dose of 'Foreign Correspondent' on the TV. Eventually it was all too much and I had to take off to experience for myself what until then I'd only seen on TV and in print.

Highlights included climbing a volcano wearing only thongs (flip flops), wandering the ancient streets of Pompeii and drinking fermented horse's milk as my train rolls through the dusty plains of the Gobi desert.

Unique art, architecture, food and music is what I crave on my travels. There's nothing like the buzz of landing in a new place wondering what's there waiting to tantalise my senses.

In 2005 and 2006 I started with Intrepid as a tour leading. This took me on amazing overland adventures from St Petersburg to Uzbekistan, China and Mongolia. As someone who had previously always 'gone it solo' I was instantly converted to the Intrepid style of travel.
