The heartland of the Incas, Peru is quite simply a travellers dream. It’s a land of dense jungles, lost cities, Andean peaks, urban beaches and ancient ruins. A visit to the breath-taking lost city of Machu Picchu is a must, and reaching it is an adventure in itself; either by train from the colonial gem of Cuzco or alternatively trekking along the famous Inca Trail, or the less-travelled alternative, the Lares. But Peru offers so much more. Spot exotic jungle wildlife in the mighty Amazon rainforest, explore the Taquille and Uros islands by reed canoe on Lake Titicaca, or get a birds-eye view of the mysterious Nazca lines from the sky. A land like no other, Peru encompasses the whole world in one country and is sure to live long in the memory.
