A leader's perspective...
Not only is Norway the Land of the Midnight Sun, but it is also a place I proudly call home. From trolls, vikings and the northern lights to bustling cities and innovative design, the little country up north has more to offer than one can imagine. Captivating fjords with timeless beauty stretch along the country’s west coast, while rugged mountains and beautiful forests enchant even the locals. No wonder they say Norwegians were born with skis on their feet, as the colder months provide a winter wonderland perfect for cross country skiing, snowboarding and downhill. Traditions are kept alive in every inch of the land, whether it be the annual Quart Festival or Midsummer Night. Light summer nights and dark winter days along with a gracious and welcoming people capture the essence of Norway.

Vikings, how did they get there in one piece?
Museums - Europe is full of them and let’s face it, they’re not cheap. If you see only one in Norway, don’t miss the Viking Longboats, which is a short ferry-ride from central Oslo. Anyone with a remote interest in the vikings can’t help but be amazed seeing the boats that carried them on journeys as far away as Turkey, Ireland and North America. The island where this museum is located is beautiful, and is a great place to go for a walk or get yourself and ice cream by the water and relax.
Eating cheap in Bergen
Scandinavians love to make fun of each other. This sometimes means that we don’t visit our neighbours much. But even though I'm Swedish, Bergen in Norway just blew me away - it's stunning. The cost of dinner is also pretty amazing. Go down to the stalls at the harbour and you'll find the best fresh seafood for less than US$10, which means you can afford a beer too.
